To mark the European Antibiotic Awareness Day and the first World Antibiotic Awareness Week, ECDC will coordinate a "24-hour Global Twitter conversation" on 18 November.

To mark the European Antibiotic Awareness Day and the first World Antibiotic Awareness Week, ECDC will coordinate a "24-hour Global Twitter conversation" on 18 November, with the participation of the World Health Organization offices in Europe, southeast Asia and America, and EAAD partner organisations from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the United States.

During the 24-hour conversation, participants are welcome to discuss topics related to keeping antibiotics effective and antimicrobial resistance and interact with experts by using the hashtag #AntibioticResistance.

European Twitter chat - #EAAD

As in previous years, experts from ECDC, the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, the DG for Health and Consumers of the European Commission, European Medicines Agency and the ,European Food Safety Authority and will hold a live Twitter chat on 18 November 2015, from 13:00 to 14:00 CET to answer questions on antibiotic resistance and antibiotic consumption with a focus on the situation in Europe.
